Learn to play Mahjong with Mahj in the Mitten

Monday, April 21, 6pm-8pm  AND 

Monday, April 28, 6pm-8pm

We are offering a series of two evening lessons, where, as a beginner player, you will have the chance to learn the exciting tile game of American Mahjong. Come learn the rules, strategies, and techniques, meet fellow enthusiasts, make new friends, and have a blast! Both classes will take place at Pursuit Paper & Gift, 496 Ada Dr. SE, Suite 106, Ada, Michigan.

We will provide 4 hours of instruction, everything you need to play including a folder reviewing all you have learned. 

The total cost to attend both classes is $99. Payment is required to reserve your spot. 

Life happens, we understand, but please note, classes cancelled less than 24 hours in advance are not refunded.

Mahj 101

Our Mahj 101 class will introduce you to the tiles, the NMJL card, game set up and dealing, the Charleston, and ends with game play.  We will continue coaching as many games as time allows (usually two full games).
After class you'll feel cautiously optimistic about your new mahj skills! You'll leave with a folder reviewing all you've learned and a new obsession - that's our goal!

Mahj 102

Mahj 102 starts with a quick review of material covered in the 101 and continues with the finer points of etiquette/sportsmanship, rules, hacks, and strategy. Mahj 102 can be customized to the group, addressing specific questions and areas of interest for your table and included two hours of instruction
